How do I get this weight off?
My plan...
I have meals ordered from an online dietitian, the daily meals are broken down into 3 meals with 2 snacks. The calories range between 1100-1500 calories. I believe it's based on some type of cycle that is supposed to prevent plateauing and induce weight loss.
I have been on this meal plan for two months and have lost about 30 lbs.
The present meal program allows for one cheat meal per week. I saw this infomercial for something called the "Skinny Switch". A nutritionist in Connecticut believes that the key to weight loss is to trick your body. His meal plan is 2 days of strict adherence to his meal plan, and on day three a single meal that can be whatever you want. It was very intriguing, so I signed up for it. The present program is impossible to figure out, it has some great features including a program which can take a persons fat photo and trim it down to show what you would look like skinny. The real issue for me wasn't the cooking or the meals, it was the grocery list. The list doesn't give you anything other than the portions from your meal planning, meaning if you have to use a teaspoon of olive oil on something rather than add up all the units of olive oil to tell you to buy 12 ounces it will list the teaspoon plus all other units used in all the meals over the week, which means the grocery list is 8 pages long. I don't have time to decipher all that, which is why chose this present company for my meals.
What I am going to borrow from the above program is the intermittent cheating. What has really slowed my progress is interacting with other people, birthdays, get together, business functions, it's hard as an adult to just bounce out on people because of a meal.
I am going to use a simple reward system.
For everyday I stick to my meal plan as prescribed I will give myself a "+".
For everyday I exercise for more than 40 minutes I will give myself another "+".
For everyday I break the meal plan even with a nibble of something I will give myself "-".
For everyday I binge on a something and cut out my planned meals I will give myself "-", "-".
Every time I am able to accumulate a positive balance of 4, the next day I will have a single sensible normal meal.
I will also work towards working out at Xsport Fitness at least 3 days a week at a minimum of 45 minutes per each trip. I use the elliptical machines, and they are probably one of a handful machines I can use based on my present physical condition. The next time you go to the gym look to see who uses those machines, it really tends to be the unhealthy. Every once in a while you see a porterhouse using it get his meaty heart rate up, or you'll see a really hot chic using it as part of a cycle of other cardio machines. I need to get my heart rate up and speed up my metabolism so for now it is my only option.
Example:
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
++ + - ++ FREE
++ ++ FREE ++ ++ FREE
- - - - ++ ++ ++ ++ FREE
I will further attempt not to eat any meals after 6:00 PM. What's sadistic is that the pangs of hunger are a signal that the next day I will weigh less.
